Real Madrid interested in €15 million Arsenal target

There are a number of positions in Real Madrid’s squad which need strengthening, as squad depth has been a major issue for this team this season. Right-back falls under that category. Dani Carvajal is 31 and his recent performances have come under heavy criticism. On the other hand, Lucas Vazquez is the same age while Alvaro Odriozola does not seem to be in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.

Eder Militao and Nacho Fernandez can fill in at right-back, but that is not their primary position. As a result, Real Madrid could do with another option there. And it looks like a full-back from a La Liga rival has caught their eye.

As reported by The Athletic, Real Valladolid would be open to letting Ivan Fresneda leave this January for a transfer fee close to €15 million. Clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Liverpool, Wolves, Everton, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are all believed to have been tracking his progress.

And as reported by The Telegraph, Arsenal have turned their attention to Fresneda, who has also attracted the interest of Newcastle United.

Real Madrid are interested in right-back also wanted by clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and more

Fresneda is just 18 years of age and currently plays for Real Valladolid. And it is safe to say that he has been very impressive.

As the season has progressed, Fresneda has nailed down his spot as the starting right-back for Real Valladolid and it seems like only a matter of time before he gets a big transfer move.

While Real Madrid do need a right-back, someone like Fresneda would be someone for the future rather than a player who can come in and fix their problems now. Of course, there is always the possibility that he could exceed all expectations and establish himself as a starter for Los Blancos at 18 years of age, but that feels unlikely

The race to sign Fresneda seems to be very tough though and it remains to be seen if Real Madrid end up making a serious push or not.
