GOAL! Arsenal 3-1 West Ham (Nketiah, 68)
That is sensational!
It's a brilliant, brilliant team goal from Arsenal. White plays a key part in it, skipping away from Benrhama with a nice piece of skill before feeding Odegaard, who cushions a first-time pass into Nketiah.

The Arsenal striker then pins Kehrer and spins away from him before rifling a sweet, low finish into the far corner.

It's the kind of goal you would associate with Wenger's best Arsenal teams and it's a massive one for Nketiah, who is in for the injured Gabriel Jesus and already making his mark.

HALF TIME! That's it for the first half at the Emirates! Arsenal thought they might have an opportunity to level right at the end of it there, but the penalty was rightly overturned following a VAR check.

Said Benrahma's spot kick is the difference!

Sky Sports' Oliver Yew at the Emirates Stadium:

"Michael Oliver blows his whistle and takes an age to point to the spot, but point to the spot he does.

"David Moyes isn't happy with the decision and is pointing to his head to show where he thinks the ball hit.

"VAR isn't sure either and Oliver is heading over to the screen..."

This might be overturned! Replays suggest Odegaard's shot was blocked by Cresswell's head rather than his hands!

44: For all Arsenal's dominance of the ball - they've had 71 per cent of the possession - they have only mustered four shots on goal. More cutting edge needed.

Arsenal 0-1 West Ham

Sky Sports' Oliver Yew at the Emirates Stadium:

"So often this season the positive Arsenal crowd has played a huge part for Mikel Arteta's side.

"There are just a few signs that West Ham are taking the sting out of the atmosphere. There are a few flat moments and that will be music to David Moyes' ears.

"How long can they keep the home fans silent? West Ham fans will be hoping for as long as possible."

34: CHANCE! Nketiah looks to have got in behind the West Ham defence but he chooses to check back rather than shoot. He then feeds Saka to his right but his pass doesn't have enough on it, allowing West Ham to recover. A bit of a waste, that.

GOAL! Arsenal 0-1 West Ham (Benrahma pen, 26)

No mistake by Benrahma! Ramsdale dives to his left and the West Ham man fires his penalty straight down the middle!

It's against the run of play but West Ham won't care! Saliba's error punished and Arsenal must now come from behind.

Losing Jesus a blow, but Eddie’s ready to step in’

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, speaking in the matchday programme:

“Of course, the bad news for us during the break was the injury to Gabby Jesus. It’s disappointing especially for him of course, but also to the whole team, because he’s really important to us.

“The way he came in and lifted the standard and the quality from day one, it was huge for us. We are all here supporting Gabby to get back as soon as possible.

“So this is tough to take, but I know Eddie [Nketiah] is more than ready to step in. I think he will do that in a great way. He showed it towards ther end of last season as well, when he started playing more regularly up front and he did really well.

“I have to tell you in training Eddie’s looked really sharp as well., he’s always there for us and I’m sure he’s ready to step in, to help the team and keep us going in a good way, so I’m not too worried about that to be honest.”

Saliba starts, Nketiah leads the line

The big news for Arsenal is that William Saliba goes straight into the team despite being part of the France squad that lost in the World Cup final only eight days ago.

Ben White, who left England’s World Cup squad early, also starts in Arsenal’s defence, while Kieran Tierney is at left-back, with Oleksandr Zinchenko only on the bench following his return from injury, and Takehiro Tomiyasu not in the squad.

Eddie Nketiah leads the line in the absence of the injured Gabriel Jesus and he will be flanked by Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, both of whom impressed in Qatar.
