Montes flicks the ball on at the near post from an in-swinging corner and Martin is there at the back post to side-foot home.

They deserve that lead.

Lozano whips in a wonderful cross from the right and it's met by a DIVING HEADER from Pineda which deflects off a Saudi Arabia defender and away from danger.

Saudi Arabia are struggling and now Al Shehri goes into the book for using too much of his arms in an aerial dual.

Now then, here we go. Make yourself a hero.

Saudi Arabia have a free-kick just left from centre, 25 yards out. In other words, Beckham territory. It's Al Dawsari to take...

Iran 0-1 USA

65: CHANCE! USA are so open and Iran almost find the leveller. An attack down the right sees the ball fizzed in. Taremi slides in and catches Ream. The ball then finds Ghoddos about 12 yards out but he whips the effort wide. Wouldn't have counted. The referee had blown for a foul.

Iran 0-1 USA

Sky Sports' Richard Morgan:

"That was Iran's first attempt on goal in the match and it has taken them 52 minutes, but you just sense a slight turn in the tide in this second half, with Carlos Queiroz's side looking far more dangerous as they go in search of the goal that will send them through to the last 16.

GOAL ALERT! Iran 0-1 USA (Pulisic, 38)

THERE IS THE BREAKTHROUGH!!

The full-backs have been so involved for USA and that's where this goal comes from. Dest charges beyond his marker in the box and heads a quality ball into the six-yard box. Pulisic charges in from close range to bundle the ball home.

Worrying signs though - he has taken a knock colliding with the goalkeeper. He didn't even celebrate.

Netherlands 2 vs 0 Qatar. FIFA World Cup Group A Live match stream

Netherlands 2-0 Qatar
FT: Netherlands didn't need to get out of second gear and go through to the last-16 of the World Cup as Group A winners.

They now have a four-day break before their knockout journey begins against the Group B runners-up.

Qatar go out of the World Cup with three games, three defeats, one goal and zero points.

GOAL! Netherlands 2-0 Qatar (De Jong, 49)
That could be as good as job done for Netherlands.

Klaasen's cross is headed into the path of Depay at the back stick. His effort is well saved by Barsham from close range, but he can't stop the ball falling into the path of Frenkie de Jong, who has an empty net to find himself from just a couple of yards.

Netherlands 1-0 Qatar
HT: Depay drags a long-range shot wide and there goes the whistle. The Netherlands have the lead and are currently coasting into top spot.

Qatar, however, have shown some decent touches and could easily have scored in this opening period.

It's not quite home and dry yet for Louis van Gaal's side. But it's pretty close.

GOAL! Netherlands 1-0 Qatar (Gakpo, 26)

THREE IN THREE!

Beautiful move from the Dutch. If there is one aspect about them to be feared, it's the form of Cody Gakpo.

It's a great team move involving Gakpo, Depay and Klaassen. The former is released by the latter and suddenly he's charging towards the Qatar goal.

Gakpo takes one look and fires the ball into the far corner for his third goal in three games. Qatar's brave resistance is broken.

 Just two changes from Netherlands

Louis van Gaal has made just two changes from the Netherlands side that drew 1-1 with Ecuador on Friday.

Teun Koopmeiners and Steven Bergwijn drop to the bench, with Marten De Roon and Memphis Depay starting in their places.

Qatar, meanwhile, make just one change from the side dispatched 3-1 by Senegal. Karim Boudiaf drops to the bench with Abdulaziz Hatem starting instead.

Liverpool sale latest as 12 potential buyers assessed amid £3.5bn FSG boost

Liverpool sale latest including first FSG quotes, potential buyers, others who are ruled out, asking price and more details

A number of names have been discussed as potential buyers of Liverpool, with some seemingly more realistic than others. FSG, who have been at the helm at Anfield for the past 12 years, have expanded their search for investment, something they tasked major American banks Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to lead on last year, to welcome expressions of interest around a full sale of the club.

FSG's move has now been followed by the Glazer family at Manchester United, who themselves have stated that they are on the lookout for investment but also open to giving up their controlling stake in the Old Trafford side.

With two of world sport's most iconic teams up for sale at the same time it has understandably sparked much interest, with plenty of names with deep pockets linked to the Reds over the past fortnight, from US investment funds, to Indian billionaires, to sovereign wealth funds.

PSG HAND LIVERPOOL AND FSG £3.5BN BOOST

PSG chief Al-Khelaifi told the Financial Times that the 15 per cent stake that was being made available for purchase was based on a valuation of the club at €4bn (£3.5bn), a figure that would place it higher that what Liverpool were deemed to be seeking.

That comes despite PSG playing in a smaller market league with far smaller media rights, not owning their own stadium and having a balance sheet that saw them lose £320m in their most recent financial year, not helped by carrying the burden of a wage bill that includes the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr and Lionel Messi. PSG revenues also were far short of what Liverpool are expected to post, the Reds likely to see revenues of £600m against a profit of around £70m when their accounts are published in early 2023, while PSG saw revenues of £480m for their most recent financials.

With PSG providing their own clear valuation of what they feel they are worth, FSG may be emboldened to hold out for more from any would-be suitor given how much more they have to offer for the price

LIVE MATCH STREAM World Cup: Portugal 2 vs 0 Uruguay Group H

Full Time Portugal 2 vs 0 Uruguay

Bruno Fernandes scored twice to send Portugal through to the knockout stages from Group H with a game to spare after beating Uruguay 2-0.

Cristiano Ronaldo thought he had scored a second-half header although the striker did not get a touch to Fernandes' cross which ended up in the net.

GOAL! Portugal 2-0 Uruguay (Fernandes pen, 90+3)

OF COURSE! IT HAD TO BE HIM...

Portugal work the ball to Fernandes who wastes no time in looking for his former teammate. He gets the run on Godin but is being played onside by Varela. Once in front of goal he has the quality to head into the far corner.

You just can't keep him out of the headlines.

Portugal 0-0 Uruguay

HT: It's been bitty, scrappy and full of fouls. Just what we expected then. Portugal have had the ball, Uruguay have had the best chance. Bentancur's dazzling run sent him through one-on-one but his finish didn't match the scintillating approach play.

Fernando Santos makes three changes to the Portugal side that beat Ghana. In comes Pepe – yes, this should be fun – for his 130th cap. The old boy is 39 years and 275 days old.

58: Did you know...?

Breel Embolo has scored in three of his last four matches for Switzerland, scoring three times and netting the winner in each game, including on MD1 against Cameroon.

The last Swiss player to score in consecutive World Cup games was Alexander Frei in 2006, while the only players to score in Switzerland's first two games at a World Cup are Leopold Kielholz in 1934 and Andre Abegglen in 1938.

FC Transfer Rumours Liverpool journalist has already confirmed interest in Enzo Fernandez

Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez caught the eye with a goal in Argentina’s 2-0 win over Mexico, with Liverpool among the 21-year-old’s admirers.

Argentina were already a goal up through Lionel Messi’s second-half strike when Fernandez picked up the ball on the left-hand side of the box and curled home.

It showed the young midfielder’s quick feet and shooting ability, which have been key features in his first season with Benfica.

Since swapping River Plate for the Portuguese club in July, Fernandez has scored three and assisted five in 24 games so far, including assists against PSG and Juventus in the Champions League.

After the World Cup, he can look to a last-16 clash with Liverpool, who are keeping track of his development as they plot midfield additions in 2023.

On Friday, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that the Reds have a “very, very good chance” in the race to sign Jude Bellingham.

But the journalist, who has connections to sources close to Jurgen Klopp, added interest in two unnamed South American midfielders.

As Liverpool desperately scrambled for a late solution to their midfield injury crisis, Reddy assessed the situation.

While a deadline-day loan move for Arthur was sealed, it was explained that there had been efforts made to bolster the ranks in the middle of the park throughout the summer.

She outlined interest in Aurelien Tchouameni and Ryan Gravenberch, with Liverpool missing out to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich respectively.

But perhaps most intriguing now is mention of a “watching brief” on Fernandez, whose move from River Plate was designed to “continue his development.”

That would suggest that, as with Matheus Nunes’ transfer from Sporting CP to Wolves, those within the club were aware of the situation but perhaps eager to see how the player progressed at a higher level before committing.

ENGLAND 0 VS 0 USA LIVE MATCH STREAM

England 0-0 USA

FT: Hmmm. England edge closer to qualification from Group B. A spectacle it wasn't. There are boos from the crowd. The Iran romp on Monday seems like decades ago.

The expected goals battle reads: England 0.54 vs 0.61 USA - which sums up just how cagey this game was. Pulisic hit the bar. Kane headed wide late on. Maguire was a bit of a colossus at the back, clearing everything put into his box.

We must remember that England are in pole position in the group. They just need to avoid a hefty defeat to Wales in the final group game to qualify.

. England 0-0 USA

77: SUB! Saka - quiet - replaced by Rashford. Spark required.

Aaronson and More are also on for USA.

England 0-0 USA

76: It's not happening for England. Saka tries to feed off Kane but the ball bobbles away for a goal kick.

No shots on goal from England in the second half doesn't make great reading.

England 0-0 USA

Sky Sports News' Rob Dorsett:

"Grealish has made a difference since he came on. At least he's looking to commit defenders and run and pass forward. England have barely done that in this game. It's all been a bit too passive and lacking in the intensity we saw against Iran.

"Stones sums up England's frustrations. A long, straight ball finds no runners, and drifts aimlessly through to the US keeper.

"He throws his arms in the air in disgust - with himself, as much as his static teammates."

England 0-0 USA

74: England in control of the ball now. Grealish and Mount link down the left. The ball into Kane is a good one but he just looks a little sloppy with his touch.

71: And now Grealish makes his mark. He creates havoc with a driving run into the box down the left. He's crowded out but England look more of a threat.

England 0-0 USA

Sky Sports News' Rob Dorsett:

"I'm not sure England's captain is fully fit.

"Harry Kane doesn't look as sharp as usual, and he's being bullied off the ball more easily too."

Kane has had more touches in his own box than the United States' so far tonight.

England 0-0 USA

70: Better. Henderson has added a bit more bite in there. Shaw gets forward and looks for Kane. Ream clears.

England 0-0 USA

46: WE ARE BACK! Time for an England response. They must move the ball quicker. And pass it to Kane - he's been starved of service but when he's got it, he's been silky smooth.

USA have the first kick of the second half.

Sky Sports' Gary Neville on ITV:

"USA are just brighter and sharper. Pulisic is a massive talent and Pickford was lucky as he was beaten for his shot. It was a massive wake-up call.

"For Phil Foden not to be playing in the starting XI is a real shame because he's a massive talent. I think he's our best player and our biggest talent by a mile in this country.

"He should be playing in that team."

'Midfield being dominated'

Sky Sports' Gary Neville on ITV:

"We had far too many passes at the back between Harry Maguire and John Stones. Their midfield three - Tyler Adams, Yunus Musah and Weston McKennie - has made our three look sluggish.

"We talked about Bellingham and Mount before the game... I thought Maguire was poor for the McKennie chance as he needs to be dealing with the near-post zone."

'England have been sluggish'

Sky Sports' Roy Keane on ITV:

"Difficult for England, they've not got going. They look off it. They've been sluggish with passing from the back. Maguire put a couple out of play and that would have pleased the USA.

"USA have looked tidy. It's a big half-time talk for Southgate. England need to liven up."

11m ago20:52

England 0-0 USA

Sky Sports News' Rob Dorsett:

"England finished the half very strongly, with a couple of excellent chances, but they will be disappointed with that first 46 minutes, as a whole.

"USA grew into the game, and had the better chances on the whole - Pulisic's shot that struck the bar was the best of them.

"There will be stern words from Southgate during the interval. England have been second to too many balls in midfield, have been sloppy in their defensive marking, and - until that last rally - didn't penetrate enough.

"Could Southgate be considering some subs already? Probably not, but he will expect better in the second half."

Big team talk ahead for Southgate

Sky Sports' Sam Blitz:

"The bad news? England have been poor and this has been very similar to what the form we saw before this World Cup began.

"The good news? It's still 0-0 and these are 15 crucial minutes for Gareth Southgate to calm down the squad.

"The more encouraging news? The United States put in a similar first-half display against Wales and then dropped in quality after half-time."

England 0-0 USA

Aaron McLean on Sky Sports News:

"You look at the way Rashford came on and made a quick impression, he would be one to bring on. He looks re-energised and has a different purpose about him now.

"Callum Wilson made a good impression against Iran. Southgate won't make the changes straight away, but I would look to try and get those two on."
