Newcastle to rival Liverpool for midfield 'target'

Newcastle United will rival Liverpool for the signature of Brighton and Hove Albion midfield Moises Caicedo, according to reports.

Caicedo had been one of the Seagulls' star performers under former manager Graham Potter since making the move to the Amex for his native country in 2021. And such displays have led to the midfielder being linked with eye-watering moves to Anfield, Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge and now mega-rich Newcastle United look set to enter the race.

According to the Mirror, the south coast outfit are prepared to cash in on the Caicedo and can boast former sporting director Dan Ashworth and his previous relationships at Brighton to strike a deal

Liverpool have 'always liked' Son Heung Min

Liverpool could make a move for Tottenham forward Son Heung-min, a player they have 'always liked', according to reports.

Journalist Dean Jones believes Son could depart White Hart Lane if Antonio Conte's side fail to qualify for the Champions League this season. The South Korean international has two years remaining on his contract and recently turned 30.

Reports in recent weeks have suggesteod that the Tottenham forward could look for a fresh challenge elsewhere, having spent seven years in north London.

Weighing in on his future, Jones said: "I think if Tottenham don't make the top four this season, that's when the worry will probably start to set in, because there's no doubt there will be clubs that are interested in signing Son.

"Real Madrid are being spoken about at the moment, but outside of that, Liverpool have always liked him, Barcelona would be there and then probably PSG and Bayern Munich."
