Chelsea XI vs AC Milan: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Champions League game today

Chelsea look set to welcome back Thiago Silva against AC Milan tonight, though N’Golo Kante remains sidelined for the Champions League contest.

Kante suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury in training and he is joined in the treatment room by Hakim Ziyech (illness) and Wesley Fofana (knee).

“We’re just waiting for [Kante’s] reaction from training,” Chelsea boss Graham Potter confirmed on Monday. “It is certainly not ideal so we will have to wait and see the extent of it and go from there.”

Potter is set to rotate his starting lineup in Italy but Kepa Arrizabalaga could continue ahead of Edouard Mendy as Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper. Ben Chilwell is set to return after being rested for the win over Wolves, as were Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Veteran defender Silva missed the weekend’s game due to a cold but he is now back, with the Blues taking 22 players to the San Siro for Tuesday’s game. Trevoh Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are in position to maintain their places as Mateo Kovacic eyes a spot in the XI.
