Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool

Sky Sports News senior reporter Melissa Reddy:

"And there you go. Liverpool lose the ball, are loose in transition, and Arsenal punish them with Jesus and Martinelli superb on the break before Saka added the clinical touch."

Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool

Sky Sports' Peter Smith at Emirates Stadium:

"Slow starters? Slow finishers too.

"In between Liverpool were good but those bad lapses at each end of the first half will hurt - especially that setback on the stroke of half time after the visitors had done so well to get back into the contest and take control of proceedings.

"That second goal came at the perfect time for Arteta, who can now set his side up during the break to better defend this second lead of the game..."

HALF-TIME!

Liverpool looked to be heading into the break with all of the momentum but that strike from Saka has transformed this game and seen the Gunners through a testing spell.

Liverpool will be kicking themselves (the look on Jurgen Klopp's face painted a thousands words). Having clawed themselves back into the contest it's back to square on for the team from Merseyside.

Sky Sports’ Gary Neville at Emirates Stadium:

“Arsenal have been struggling for the last 20 minutes of this match but they get a counter-attack.

“I have no idea what Trent Alexander-Arnold is doing, he just quickens up the attack.”

GOAL! Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool (Saka, 45+5)

Arsenal restore their lead on the stroke of half-time, and the scenes inside the Emirates really are a sight to behold!

The Gunners take full advantage of referee Michael Oliver's excellent advantage on halfway as they break through Martinelli.

He drags the ball across the face of the Liverpool goal and Bukayo Saka is on hand to bundled in the hosts' second.

45+3: Saka floats the corner in but Nunez is on hand to head clear. Liverpool fail to truly clear their lines, with Saka, Odegaard and Jesus all trying to bring the ball down in the box before it's eventually scrambled clear.

Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool

Sky Sports News senior reporter Melissa Reddy:

"The Liverpool equaliser was coming on account of them having a period of greater control and surety. Nunez and Diaz had just combined in a move that almost resulted in an own goal, before the former finished off the Colombian’s low cross.

"Arsenal have waited to hurt their visitors in defensive transitions, and do look both dangerous and confident when they counter. But they haven’t had enough of the ball for a large swathe of this first half to inflict any harm.

"Arsenal’s performances this season have been defined by lionising the ball and dominating territory, which they haven’t been able to do yet against Liverpool."

41: The Arsenal fans don't take too kindly to another stoppage, as Luis Diaz receives treatment for the second time in as many minutes. He's injured his ankle and his game is surely up, which will come as a shame to Liverpool given he's spearheaded this fightback.

Live team news, line-ups, TV channel, commentary stream, latest score and goals from the Emirates as Liverpool face Arsenal in the Premier League

The Reds currently sit 13 points behind leaders Manchester City, and were held to a frustrating 3-3 draw by Brighton in their last Premier League outing. However, they did return to winning ways in midweek as they beat Rangers 2-0 in the Champions League.

Liverpool could have Curtis Jones available for this afternoon’s game, with Andy Robertson also progressing well with his recovery from an issue sustained last month. However, Arthur Melo will be unavailable, as will Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who remain sidelined by long-term injuries.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have won all bar one of their Premier League games this season and know a win at the Emirates would see them return to the top of the table. Both Emile Smith Rowe and Mohamed Elneny will miss the game due to injury.

Kicking-off at 4.30pm, and live on Sky Sports, Paul Gorst and Ian Doyle will all be at the Emirates Stadium to provide live updates on the action, as well as bringing you team news, analysis and reaction.

Logical thinking from Jurgen Klopp

So what do we reckon to that unchanged team then?

There was a real case for Firmino starting given he likes to drop into those pockets of spaces but I think Jota generally enjoys himself against Arsenal having scored seven times since he became a Liverpool player against the Gunners and Nunez simply needs a run of games. So I can see the logic of that.

Also think having Fabinho on the bench is ideal if the visitors need to protect any sort of positive result this afternoon.

Is this the day Liverpool’s season turns around? We’re about to find out. It feels like a big one, this.
