Liverpool XI vs Brighton: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League

Trent Alexander-Arnold will be glad to be back with his club as Liverpool host Brighton in the Premier League this weekend.

Domestic action returns after the international break, in which Alexander-Arnold played no part for England against Italy and was then dropped from the squad for the Germany clash, with the right-back looking increasingly likely to miss out on the World Cup.

There are no such selection issues for him at Liverpool, but on the opposite side of the pitch Andy Robertson is expected to be out, with the left-back not yet fully recovered from a knee injury. Kostas Tsimikas should start in his place.

Ibrahima Konate has not played at all this season due to a knee problem, but he is nearing a return and was pictured in full training ahead of Brighton’s visit to Anfield. He is unlikely to be rushed straight back into action though.

Jordan Henderson is also available again and will compete with Harvey Elliott for a spot in midfield, while Thiago is set to make his first Premier League appearance since the first weekend of the season.

Diogo Jota featured for Portugal against Spain during the international break and asked to be brought off in the second half, as he continues to build his fitness after missing pre-season. With Luis Diaz returning late from Colombia duty, Jota will be hoping to get the nod from Jurgen Klopp.

The Liverpool boss also has a decision to make through the middle. Roberto Firmino has three goals and three assists in his last two league starts at Anfield, but Darwin Nunez is also available.

Predicted Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Fabinho, Thiago, Elliott; Jota, Firmino, Salah.
