ROMANO HAS GOOD NEWS FOR LIVERPOOL ABOUT ‘BRILLIANT PLAYER’ KLOPP REPORTEDLY WANTS TO SIGN

Liverpool and Chelsea are seemingly in contention to sign Moises Caicedo.

The Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder was on the Reds’ radar this past summer and it was reported that the Anfield outfit were weighing up a £42 million offer.

However, Graham Potter’s move to Chelsea from the Seagulls has made Stamford Bridge an attractive proposition for the Ecuador international, who admitted in midweek that he would absolutely love a transfer to West London.

It would appear as if the Blues are definitely ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign the 20-year-old.

However, Fabrizio Romano has some positive news on this front.

According to the reliable Italian journalist, Chelsea haven’t even began discussing about Caicedo yet and that, if true, may just boost Liverpool’s hopes.

But Romano also added that Albion wouldn’t be keen to offload the player as early as January.

He told Caught Offside: “At the moment there are no negotiations for Caicedo, we will see in the next months what happens.

I think it’d be great for them to work together again, Caicedo is a brilliant player but Brighton project deserves some respect, so I’m not sure they will be open to let Caicedo go already in January.”

It’s certainly positive for Liverpool if their Premier League rivals aren’t having an active discussion about bringing the South American to London.

The Potter factor is a potential gamechanger, a factor which makes a transfer to Chelsea incredibly possible.

But so long as the Stamford Bridge club aren’t in the race, which they don’t appear to be right now, the better it is for those on Merseyside.
