Man Utd may request one of four Chelsea players in blockbuster Marcus Rashford swap deal

MANCHESTER UNITED star Marcus Rashford has been linked with a move to Chelsea, despite the transfer window now been shut

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has emerged as a potential transfer target for Chelsea. With the England international’s contract due to expire next summer (though the club do have an option to extend it by a further year), his long-term future is up in the air. So Express Sport will now take a look at four players the Red Devils may demand in return for the 24-year-old - providing they opt to cash in on him.

Christian Pulisic

United were eyeing Christian Pulisic this summer, with the Chelsea star previously on their radar during the years where Jose Mourinho ruled the roost.

In the end, they didn’t land the USA international with Erik ten Hag opting to reunite with Antony instead.

However, if Chelsea do come calling for Rashford, then United may try and land the former Borussia Dortmund star in return.

It’ll be interesting to see how Pulisic fares at Stamford Bridge now Chelsea have sacked Thomas Tuchel and replace him with former Brighton boss Graham Potter.

If he’s not a regular by the end of the campaign, however, it’s possible he’ll push to leave west London for a new challenge…

Hakim Ziyech

Ten Hag was keen on recruiting Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea back in the summer transfer window.

However, the heavyweights among the hierarchy ultimately ruled out a move for the Morocco international due to the fact he’s struggled during his time in the Premier League.

On his day, however, Ziyech can be world-class.

He would be able to fit into Ten Hag’s system, having previously played under the 52-year-old at Ajax in the Eredivisie.

Whether the United board would perform a U-turn when it comes to the playmaker is currently unclear, however…

Reece James

Chelsea would likely resist all efforts from any club to try and sign Reece James.

But United would want a superstar to arrive if they parted ways with Rashford, especially how he was developed as an academy graduate.

So, with Ten Hag wanting a new right-back, this swap deal would suit the Red Devils more than any other.

James is one of the world’s best full-backs, despite enduring a difficult start to the season so far.

Admittedly, however, the prospect of a swap deal involving James and Rashford does appear rather remote…
