Liverpool receive huge boost as Jürgen Klopp can now fix issue using Champions League final star

Liverpool's defence hasn't been at its very best this season. But Jürgen Klopp will receive a timely boost from one of the stars of the Champions League final.
It hasn’t been a good season so far for Liverpool’s defenders.
Ever since the opening day of the season, the Reds have looked uncharacteristically poor, not to mention sloppy, at the back. Liverpool didn’t give away a single penalty in all of 2021/22, but Virgil van Dijk gave one away against Fulham on the opening day. He later followed that up with another one in the 4-1 humiliation against Napoli.
So it’s with that in mind that Klopp has received a defensive boost, with the news (RMC) that Ibrahima Konaté has been given permission to rejoin the squad. Konaté has been out since picking up an injury against Strasbourg in pre-season training in July, and returned to his native France for treatment.
Konaté isn’t likely to be drafted straight into the first team by Klopp, given that he’s only just returned, but his return will no doubt be welcomed by the German coach.

Konaté was beginning to hit his stride towards the back end of last season. He needed to show patience in earning his position alongside Van Dijk, owing to the great form of Matip, but as the quadruple neared, Konaté begun to form a solid understanding with Van Dijk at the heart of the defence. He was probably the best man in red in the Champions League final
