Paul Slane backs Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou to be the next Liverpool manager

Speaking to Grosvenor Sport , former Celtic player Paul Slane has backed Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou to be the manager to succeed Jurgen Klopp on the manager’s hot seat at Liverpool.

Paul Slane shows immense praise for the Celtic manager, who, in his first season at the club won the Scottish Premiership. The 57-year-old Australian manager was the boss at Yokohama F.M before he took the role as Celtic’s manager in the summer of 2021.

“I think he’ll be the next Liverpool manager when Jurgen Klopp decides to go or Liverpool decide to part with him. Who else takes the Liverpool job after Klopp?”

Shane sounds pretty confident about the fact that the former manager of Australia would be the new manager of Liverpool, once Jurgen Klopp departs.

Slane might be very receptive to the manager, considering he has been impressive since joining Celtic as a manager however, to claim that he can make the shift from Celtic to Liverpool is rather ridiculous.

Postecoglou started his career in the Japanese national league and then only managed teams in the Australian league before making the switch to Celtic. Considering he is a great manager, he would still need to do more in Europe to be considered among the top managers.

Notwithstanding the fact that Jurgen Klopp signed a contract extension in April which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2025/26 season, it would be wise to acknowledge that the German is here to stay and continue his project unless something drastic happens.

The chances of Klopp being sacked are completely minimal with the board having full trust in a manager who has brought the successful times back at Anfield and made Liverpool one of the strongest teams in Europe.

Only last season we were competing for a historic quadruple and there is an acceptance that Liverpool have started the season slowly but ultimately Klopp is the right person to bring the team back to its best.
