Emile Smith Rowe and three senior stars miss Arsenal training ahead of FC Zurich clash

Emile Smith Rowe was absent from Arsenal training on Wednesday and is an injury doubt for the Gunners' game with FC Zurich

The Hale End academy graduate seemed to injure himself in a post-match warm-down after Arsenal's 3-1 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday. Smith Rowe was used as a second-half substitute in that match, which still required him to train once the final whistle had blown.

When in need of a more offensive option down the right flank, Mikel Arteta instead opted for Takehiro Tomiyasu. The decision could perhaps have been influenced by Cedric carrying a potential knock.

Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny were also absent as they have been since the weekend of the 2-1 win over Fulham. Mikel Arteta was hopefully the Ghanaian would return in a matter of 'weeks' but admitted that the Egyptian would be out for considerably longer.
