Arsenal news and transfers LIVE: Third Douglas Luiz bid, Tielemans stance, Danilo

All the latest Arsenal transfer updates, rumours and team news on Thursday with the summer transfer window set to shut today!

Arsenal have just one day left to complete all of their transfer business for the summer, with incomings and outgoings expected at the Emirates Stadium on what is shaping up to be a hectic few hours ahead.

Douglas Luiz is a priority target ahead of the 11pm deadline with Arsenal set to test Aston Villa's resolve over the Brazil midfielder.

Mikel Arteta has made it clear to the Gunners hierarchy that he wants one or two more signings in before the transfer window slams shut tonight, whilst the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Hector Bellerin could still leave the club. Arsenal have been one of the busiest clubs this summer, spending in excess of £100million for the second year in a row, with Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos all making the switch to north London.

Palmeiras talent Danilo has emerged as a potential signing in the last few hours, but a deal for the Brazilian could prove difficult. A central midfielder is thought to be the Gunners' priority, but don't rule out a new winger arrival with Cody Gakpo, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Pedro Neto all linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

£25 million Douglas Luiz bid expected

Despite a £40 million reported asking price, the Gunners appear to be testing Villa's resolve with a £25 million bid.

The player has just 12 months left on his deal and this could be just the kind of motivation Villa might need to seal a transfer today and avoid the risk of losing the player for free.

Arsenal can secure £30m Nicolas Pepe replacement

Following injuries to Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey, Arsenal's focus on the last day of the transfer window has swiftly turned towards midfield reinforcements.

It's believed that Nicolas Pepe's loan departure originally paved the way for a new winger to come in, but Mikel Arteta confirmed that the club's transfer plans have since changed as a result of the fresh absentees.
