Manchester United are up and running under Erik ten Hag after earning a first win with the Dutchman as manager against rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday night. Goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford atoned for humbling early-season defeats to Brighton and Brentford.
were held against the Glazer ownership, focus switched to on-field matters and Sancho put United in front with a calm and composed finish. Rashford made it 2-0 upon the restart after bursting past the Liverpool defence in a moment which needed a second check from VAR.
As that goal stood United were coasting and full value. However, a late response from Mohamed Salah gave them something to think about in the closing stages.
Ultimately, though, Ten Hag and his players earned all three points in stunning fashion.
