Liverpool transfer news: Frenkie de Jong ‘offer tabled’ while swap offer mooted

 The Reds got the majority of their transfer business done earlier in the window but a vast array of names continue to be linked with a move to Anfield before next week’s transfer deadline

Liverpool could yet be set to seal some late deals this summer with Jurgen Klopp having confirmed that the Reds are on the hunt for additions.

The Merseysiders need to add more bodies into their midfield following a number of injury issues over recent weeks having appeared to have wrapped up their business earlier this summer. It of course remains to be seen who will arrive at Anfield before the end of the transfer window.

Liverpool lodge Frenkie de Jong ‘offer’


Amid their search for midfield recruits this summer, Liverpool have attempted to beat great rivals Manchester United to the signing of Frenkie de Jong.


According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Reds have offered €70million (£59.3million) for the services of the Dutch midfielder. It remains to be seen if that will be enough to tempt the Catalan giants into a sale but a move might prove tricky considering the difficulty that the Red Devils have found whilst attempting to seal a deal for the former Ajax star.


Erik ten Hag’s men have since moved onto alternative targets having sealed a deal for Brazilian midfielder Casemiro from Real M
