Highly-rated Flamengo midfielder Joao Gomes has spoken about his "great desire" to one day play for Liverpool. While taking part in a live-streaming session on Instagram to speak to his fans, he was asked whether he wants to one day move to the Premier League and if so, which clubs does he like.
He responded by stating “Liverpool are a team I’d play for. I have the greatest desire to play. Playing in the Champions League is my biggest dream and that of my family, my biggest dream in football.”
Flamengo has a rich history of bringing through an array of top South American talents, and Gomes very much looks to be their latest star. Although still just 21, he’s made 93 senior appearances already for the Brazilian side and is a key player in the heart of their midfield
