MIKEL ARTETA ON WHETHER FFP WILL IMPACT ARSENAL'S TRANSFER BUSINESS
The transfer window has less than a week to run and Arsenal could yet further strengthen before it slams shut.
The Gunners have already brought in five players this summer but have been linked with ample names. It remains to be seen whether boss Mikel Arteta will dip back into the market for further reinforcements and he remained coy on the subject when asked prior to their latest Premier League clash against Fulham.
One area many have suggested as being in need of strengthening is
on the wing, especially given Nicolas Pepe's departure. Earlier this week the Ivory Coast international was granted permission to join Nice on a season-long loan arrangement. That has led to speculation linking Arsenal with both Wolves' Pedro Neto and PSV's Cody Gakpo
The only first XI squad number at the Emirates Stadium which is likely to be up for grabs between now and September 1 is No.2 - currently held by out-of-favour Hector Bellerin.
Whilst Arsenal are unlikely to bring in more defensive reinforcements, Gakpo, Neto or any other attack-minded player who enters the building could decide to go down the Wilfried Bony route and occupy the No.2 shirt despite it being heavily associated with full-backs rather than forwards.
Youri Tielemans, the Leicester City midfielder, is another who has been linked with a late-window move to Arsenal.
