Arsenal news: Mikel Arteta proven right by Martin Odegaard amid Youri Tielemans bid Arsenal secured a dominant win over Bournemouth to continue their excellent start to the new Premier League season, but boss Mikel Arteta is still looking for new recruits

Arsenal continued their fine start to the season with a dominant win at Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

Martin Odegaard scored two of their three goals on the South Coast to send them to the top of the Premier League table. Following the game, the Norwegian was singled out for his impact as captain, after being handed the armband earlier this summer. That praise comes as Oleksandr Zinchenko hailed William Saliba and Leicester brace for a bid from Mikel Arteta for Youri Tielemans. Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Arsenal news.

Martin Odegaard was handed the captain's armband when Alexandre Lacazette left the Emirates Stadium. So far, the Norwegian has led his side to three successive wins since taking on the role permanently.

His crowning performance came on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium when he scored a brace to help the Gunners defeat Bournemouth. His leadership on the pitch has not gone unnoticed, with Jamie Redknapp hailing the decision to hand Odegaard the armband.

The midfielder is already the captain of Norway, though this is the first time he has been a permanent skipper at club level. According to Redknapp though, Arteta made the perfect decision when selecting his new leader on the pitch.
