Arsenal already have their own Diogo Jota as Mikel Arteta makes special request for £34m signing Mikel Arteta could have found his very own Diogo Jota-esque signing as Arsenal finally prepare to introduce their summer signing.

However, Mikel Arteta has perhaps taken inspiration from Liverpool with his new-look Arsenal team. It is hard not to see the parallels between this Arsenal attack and that of Jurgen Klopp’s title-winning one.

A Brazilian centre-forward whose creativity elevates the ability of those that flank him, Roberto Firmino. A star inverted right-winger who cuts onto his left-foot and shoulders the penalty duties, Mohamed Salah and an inverted left-winger with great pace, dribbling ability and goalscoring potential, Sadio Mane.

Jesus, Saka and Martinelli mirror these three and whilst they are not at that level, yet, it shares the same question that Jurgen Klopp had to answer. How do you continue to improve on what looks to be unbreakable?

The answer for the German coach was found in Diogo Jota. Liverpool spent big money to bring in the versatile forward from Wolves and since the Portuguese attacker has found a place in his side.

Mane was then replaced by Luis Diaz, yet another inverted left winger with great technical ability and goalscoring potential. If it ain’t broke…

Arsenal remain linked with wide players this window, however, Arteta has perhaps already secured the clubs own Jota signing with the arrival of Fabio Vieira. The 22-year-old made his unofficial Arsenal debut for the under-21s side in yesterday’s 2-1 win over Swansea.

Under-21 head coach Mehmet Ali told football.london that Arteta had specifically asked Vieira to be played on the right-wing. He showed off his good ball control and passing skills, creating a viral moment with a glorious, chipped ball over the Swansea defence for the onrushing Emile Smith Rowe.

Yet, as Mikel Arteta says, Vieira can play all over. Ahead of the Leicester City win he said: “That’s something the player is going to tell us.

“We are already trying him in different positions in training, and he’s played on the left, right, as a false nine and an attacking midfielder, so it’s good. He doesn’t want to be locked in any one position, because he’s so used to it, and that’s a really positive thing for us.”

Remind you of anyone? Not only is Vieira Portuguese too and having spent time with Porto, but he also holds the versatile tag like Jota.

The season has got off to a flying start for Arsenal and Vieira has not had his say in any game. Arsenal remain active in the transfer window according to Arteta and therefore there is still plenty more to be excited about.
